The Associated Press has published an article by Ryan Lenz that appears to make libelous claims against the company, Liberty Dollar, who's offices were raided early Thursday morning. In his report, Lenz states that the company "produces illegal currency and puts it in circulation", a claim that many are arguing could be legally construed as libel. No judgement has been made against Liberty Dollar, yet Lenz article seems to indicate a proven case of wrongdoing. Lenz may have committed a pricey legal
faux pas, as many libel cases have awarded decisions numbering in the millions of dollars. And that's in federal reserve notes, not Liberty Dollars.
No word on whether Lenz or the AP are considering a retraction.
